The Wait Is Over "FORDward with FORD"

The long awaited viewing of the TOM FORD’s S/S 2012 photos is now over. In my opinion this collection is sexy, flirty, & rich. I love it. I always look at an outfit piece by piece, then my eyes draw back and look at the outfit as whole, and I see some very wearable pieces in this collection.

My fave would have to be the gowns, they’re so romantic, (not your typical “SEX oozing Ford, not that there is anything wrong with that). The white power suit, the deep violets, the leather jackets, and both versions of the LBD were all hits with me. I am so glad that Ford has returned to the Fashion world. He has always be one of my favorite designers.

Most Stylish of the Small Screen List

In no particular order, listed are Fashion for Jo Jo’s “Fashionable Fab 5 - Influential Fashionable TV Shows.

MAD MEN happens to be one of my favorite shows, not just because of the scandals, but also for the early 60’s era fashions. The era of a true lady; where curves were real and celebrated. Though I truly love Joan & Betty’s style; but any woman who walks on this set, be that they’re a costar or extra, looks amazing. These Vintage Vixens are surrounded by some very dapper gentlemen as well, eye-candy (Donald Dapper & Roger Sterling). Banana Republic has even launched a “MAD MEN” inspired collection (now that’s influential) I can’t wait for season 5 to air. The shows Costume Designer is “Janie Bryant”.

Sex and the City witch happens to be the most influential of them all. If it wasn’t for this show most women would still be lost when it comes to not only relationships but also, most importantly “Fashion”. Oh how Carrie thought us “A Girls Right to Shoes”. The show’s Costume Designer “Pat Field (Fashion Designer & Stylist)” not only crated phenomenal trends (who could forget Carrie's big flowers), but she increased the sales of Manolo Blank. Weather you were a Charlotte, Miranda, Samantha or a Carrie, Pat Field had something for all you, a piece that you saw, loved, and bought, and I’m pretty sure kept; due to the fact the it was from a time when you were in love (& still my be) with Sex and The City, one of the most influential shows in fashion history.

Who could forget Dynasty? (unless you wren’t born yet) This show had it all, glitz, glam, and cat-fights. The most influential glamours women of Dynasty were Alexis (Joan Collins), Dominique (Diahann Carroll, & Krystle (Linda Evans) with their jewels, furs, make-up, big hats & big shoulder pads; everything was so over the top and fabulous and I loved it. The shows Costume Designer “Nolan Miller”.

Now you have to admit that “The Nanny” was not only funny, but the outfits that Fran Fine wore were amazing. I loved that her character wasn’t afraid to wear red in a room full of beige, she was bold, loud, and she made it brilliant to stand out and be noticed. Not only was she unique & full of life, but so were her clothes. You can actualy see the influence in some fashions now that exsited on "The Nanny". A lady of many looks, I mean you can look back at every outfit and be inspired. The shows Costume Designers (for different time periods) “ Brenda Cooper, Shawn Holly Cookson, & Terry Gordon”.

Up & coming on the influence...  “Gossip Girl”. Although this show hans’t been running as long as the others (except MAD MEN) this show has some very promising potential to be influential. Lets face it, New York’s Upper East side’s socialites look absolutely fabulous, chic and trendy while throwing the most extravagant parties, misbehaving & spreading dirt. Everyones favorite characters Blair Waldorf & Serena van der Woodsen has some pretty amazing pieces in their wardrobe; if only we all would be so lucky to have a trust fund to shop like that. The shows Costume Designer “Eric Daman”

So what are some of your favorite fashionable small screen shows (if not already listed)  leave a comment, maybe I haven’t seen it and I’ll be sure to check it out.

Only Wanna Give It To You

Okay I know I’m late on this, but I don’t care. I have to let you all know how much I’m loving this video. Thanks to my BFF (@SouLana84) put me on to this with one of her tweets. I’m loving the 80’s/90's feel, the 80’s/90's inspired fashions, and J.Cole of course. Elle is rocking some Patricia Field pieces that I absolutely love ( she just has that funky, I don’t care, i’m having fun style). I like this look on Elle V, not to mention the song is pretty cool too (Great Voice). Check it out. "Only Wanna Give It To You"
